I wanted to extend my invitation to visit my "O"Gallery at 42 Arcade, Downtown, to all new and established members, who still didn't have a chance to do so!

Melody, I am so sorry I didn't make it on Friday - for as much as my heart was in it, my body was still recovering from flying back from Europe a couple of days prior and with a decent dose of flu! I do hope the event went well - and I hope to meet all the artists at a future event. Please do keep me in the loop on future events - and for help with organisation if needed :-)

An introduction of myself as an artist: I started painting watercolours as a way to relax after 6-bypasses during open heart surgery that saved my life at the end of 2005. My styles are mostly abstract and landscape, my heros were folks such as Constable and JMW Turner. I love art, and look forward to exploring Nashville art, having arrived here in April of 2009.

Open Call To Nashville Visual Artists - December Art Party!

Artists In Nashville has issued an open call for Visual Artists to participate in our December "Art Party" event on Friday December 11, 2009.

"Art Party" is a monthly event presented by Artists In Nashville at various locations throughout the Nashville area.

“Art Party” will run from 5:00—9:00 p.m. on Friday, December 11. We anticipate 150 or more guests will drop by throughout the evening. Each guest will enjoy appetizers, beverages and musical entertainment.

This is a great venue for creating relationships with art enthusiasts and buyers of art in our community.

Several spaces will be available for wall displays. Table display areas will be available as well. There is a $30 entry fee per artist. There are no commission splits for items sold at the event.

We are open to visual artists in all mediums and styles. As part of the application process you will be asked to submit three photos of your work so that Artists In Nashville and the hosting business owner can make decisions regarding the appropriateness of the work submitted for this event.

As of this morning, the Donelson-Hermitage YMCA still has openings for vendors. They also need a massage therapist and an esthetician for the spa room at the Women's Day Out event on November 22.
