We are conducting business under a new paradigm. Some time ago, I was asked to estimate the average headcount for CEO Nashville businesses. I responded by saying that this metric was no longer very significant. Business today is leveraging technology tools to replace headcount with capabilities. For many businesses, gone are the days of having employees on the payroll for a forty hour week when a full time position is not required.
In its place companies are focusing on developing competencies - primarily through networking with individuals and small businesses that bring a necessary skill set - on demand - and only when needed. So, how do you build your business in this new environment? Networking becomes a key skill. Developing trusting relationships where the parties collaborate with each other sustains this new paradigm. As a member of CEO Nashville, you can develop a relationship with any of the more than 425 members whose business skills and experience can be brought to augment what you do.
How can you start to capitalize on this resource? First, make sure you have a current picture and profile on this site. Next, commit to making one post a week and introducing yourself to five members each week. Ask them what they ned next and see if you can help them get it. Finally, plan to attend a Mastermind Luncheon and join us in a spirit of cooperation to help move members' businesses forward. You will be amazed at the impact these little - yet intentional - actions will have on the success of your business.
